2019 Race Weekend

Join team.ausome. Co-Captains Jack, Ruby and Eli, along with Honourary Captain (and running superstar) Jay Sneddon!

Whether you are a seasoned runner or just getting off the couch, we want you on our team!

Tamarack Ottawa Race Weekend brings together tens of thousands of runners from across Canada and around the world. Events include a 10k, a marathon, one of Canada’s biggest half-marathons, a family-friendly 2K, a speedy 5K, and an awesome marathon for kids. Last year, most team. ausome. families ran and walked the 2k and 5k. We also had team members run the 10k, half marathon, and a few even braved the full marathon!

Why should I join team. ausome?

By being a member of the team you are helping to raise awareness about Autism in our community.

Money raised goes directly to creating and continuing sports programs for children and youth with autism – programs that are provided free to families. It is also used for training community members, coaches, and instructors to help keep our Ausome athletes in the game.

Last year, the Ausome community joined forces and raised over $11,000 dollars.

With your help, we can do it again this year.

Lace up your shoes and get ready for Tamarack Ottawa Race Weekend!

Join Coach Amy for 5 Saturdays leading up to race weekend for some games and activities. All ages and abilities welcome.

To be part of something that matters!
Improve your fitness, build community and raise funds to support sports programs and camps for children with autism.

You will be supporting a great cause and having fun at the same time!

My child has never run in a 2 kilometers race before, what should I do to get ready?

Children will be encouraged to do what they are able – whether or not that means running the whole thing, walking the distance or somewhere in between!
Ausome Ottawa will be running a Family Run Club 6 weeks prior to the big race day. Please check out our facebook page and website for updated information.
This club will get kids moving, running, stretching and learning some running training tips along the way.
The goal of the club will be to have fun and work towards a shared goal!
It is not mandatory for runners to be a member of the Kids Run Club to participate on Team Ausome during the Ottawa Race Weekend.

Do I have to participate with my child on Race Day?

We are hoping parents will be inspired to train during the Family & Friends Run Club to get ready for Race Day.
Children must be accompanied by an adult on Race Day. We are encouraging parents and families to complete the 2 kilometer race together.
However, if this is not possible, we can match your child with an Ausome volunteer. Please contact gianlucapallotta@ausomeottawa.com for more information.
