Since 2016, Ausome has developed and delivered training workshops to give sports leaders the tools and knowledge to meaningfully include individuals with developmental disabilities in community programming. To date, over 500 leaders have learned to better support individuals with autism and other invisible disabilities.
Since March 2020, training workshops have continued virtually. This fall, we trained a national organization to provide a similar virtual experience with its own online program. Anna Whyte, Director of Training, worked alongside the GoodLife Kids Foundation to help roll out the MOVE program, which is designed to get youth with autism and intellectual disabilities from across Canada active. The pilot program will launch in Calgary, London and Halifax, and participants will have access to live online workouts led by Ausome-trained coaches. Watch for the GoodLife MOVE program coming to a city near you!
