Welcome Cameron

Hello Ausome friends and families,

It is my pleasure to introduce myself as the new Community Engagement Coordinator with Ausome.

In this role, I will be supporting Ausome Communications and Volunteers. I have a formal background in communications studies and several years of experience in the NGO sector. I am excited to work collaboratively to showcase the Ausome brand.

My name is Cameron Aitken, and I am a triplet who hails from Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario. I have called Ottawa home for the last 7 years, and I am passionate about supporting communities and families through sustainable programs.

Growing up in the Sault, my brothers were both very involved in local sports (Dance and Karate), so my role was often a spectator and supporter. My biggest athletic interests are cycling, kayaking, hiking, and practicing yoga.

Joining Ausome, my goal is to continue expanding both the organization’s communications and volunteer experience. Although I am new to this role, it is clear to me the impact that Ausome programming has on both families and Ausome athletes. The passion of Ausome families and volunteers helps to realize the mission of supporting families living with autism through sport and recreation.

I’d love to connect with you. Since it might be a little while longer until we can meet in person, please feel free to reach out to me directly and say hi! cameron@ausomeottawa.com
