Workplace Support for Employee Volunteering Initiatives

Ausome Volunteer

I have been volunteering for Ausome since the beginning of 2020. When I volunteer with Ausome, I can share two of my passions; fitness and working with kids!

I have learned so much volunteering with Ausome, and am so grateful to be a part of the positive impact Ausome has on the autism community.

I found out my employer, Export Development Canada (EDC), has different philanthropic initiatives, and I knew I wanted to nominate Ausome. EDC employees who volunteer their time can apply to nominate their organization for a donation. I immediately applied! I filled out a form describing what Ausome does and what I do as a volunteer. Shortly after, the Charitable Donations Committee at EDC approved Ausome for a donation! I was so excited to know this donation would support the Ausome athletes and high-quality programs like (my favourite!) multisport.

I know some people don’t know how or if their corporation is involved in the community. But if you don’t know, then you should ask! Ausome is a nonprofit and relies on our community, specifically all of us, to operate.

We all believe in the work Ausome is doing, and together, we can make a difference.
